Accounts Assistant Construction Company, Dorchester
Salary: £30-£35k per annum plus pension, death in service, 25 days holiday
Role: An exciting role to join a privately owned main contractor construction company based in Dorchester.
Duties include:
- Processing 50% of the purchase ledger invoices and 50% subcontractor applications on Access Dimensions/Focalpoint.
- Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements.
- Weekly/monthly payment of suppliers and subcontractors by BACS.
- Liaising with Buyers/Quantity Surveyors to resolve supplier and subcontractor payment queries.
- Obtaining subcontractor CIS Verifications from HMRC and calculation of correct tax deductions in line with current legislation.
- Preparation of monthly CIS Return for submission to HMRC.
- Preparation of monthly payroll and expenses. Currently (approx. 85 staff). Holiday cover for weekly wages (approx. 10 staff).
- Administration of pension scheme.
- Payroll year end including P11d preparation.
- Costing queries.
- Monthly VAT Returns.
- Assisting Accounts Manager with preparation of monthly management accounts to include maintaining fixed asset register and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Bookkeeping and Accounts preparation for holding company.
- Preparation of annual CITB Levy Return.
- Maintenance of Subcontractor Ledger on Focalpoint including subcontractor write offs.
- Annual analysis of nominal ledger codes for annual reporting to company auditors.
- Holiday cover (bank reconciliation, charge card, raising sales invoices).
- Scanning and filing.
Individual: The successful candidate must have payroll experience, ideally have CIS experience and also be happy to work in a busy fast paced environment. They will need to live within a commutable distance to Dorchester.
