We are seeking a skilled and experienced Business Rates Surveyor to join our clients team. As a Business Rates Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to clients on business rates valuations and appeals. You will work closely with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure that clients receive the best possible outcome in their business rates disputes.
Key Responsibilities:

• Providing expert advice and guidance to clients on business rates valuations and appeals
• Preparing and submitting business rates appeals and supporting evidence to the Valuation Office Agency
• Liaising with local authorities and other stakeholders on behalf of clients
• Negotiating with the Valuation Office Agency and local authorities to achieve the best possible outcome for clients
• Conducting property inspections and valuations to assess business rates liability
• Providing written and oral evidence to support business rates appeals
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all work undertaken
• Staying up-to-date with changes to business rates legislation and case law

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Real Estate, or a related field
• Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or similar professional body. This is preferable but not essential.
• 1+ years of experience in business rates valuation and appeals
• Strong knowledge of business rates legislation, case law, and valuation methods
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in preparing and submitting business rates appeals to the Valuation Office Agency preferred
• Full driving license and access to a vehicle
