Company Overview
Specialising in large scale infrastructure projects, UK wide, they operate a £1.2M turnover business across 5 core divisions. Typically, they take on and deliver projects in the following sectors; Defence, Marine, Water and Utilities – ranging in value from £5M – £50M+
The Role
Reporting into the Procurement Manager, to core of the Buyer role will be to establish, maintain and improve procedures for the control and effectiveness of the buying function in line with company policy and business objectives.
Key duties to include:
- Delivering the procurement input required on pre-qualifications, tenders and projects as required
- To compile, send out sub-contract and materials enquiries for assessment by the Tender/Project team.
- Assisting with the writing / review of quality answers for tenders as required.
- Liaise with site management on both sub-contract and materials procurement
- Assist in delivery of procurement required for the project
- Check all order number requests for relevant packages ensuring that the correct process has been followed and that all requisite checks have been made
What we are looking for
Ideally, you will be local to the Plmyouth area and come from a construction and civil engineering company. Alongside this, you will have:
- Strong IT skills
- Commercially astute and knowledgeable about the construction market
- Self motivated and hard working individual
