Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Highways Engineer to join their team in Exeter, Devon. As a Highways Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and managing the construction of highways and transportation projects throughout the region.
Responsibilities:
- Design and manage the construction of highways and transportation projects
- Prepare reports, feasibility studies, and contract documents
- Liaise with local authorities, contractors, and stakeholders
- Provide technical expertise and advice on highways engineering matters
- Supervise and manage junior members of staff
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- At least 5 years’ experience in highways engineering or related field
- Proficient in industry-standard software (e.g. AutoCAD, Microstation, Civil 3D)
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines (e.g. Highways Act, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Full UK driving license
