Quantity Surveyor sought, London / hybrid. Girling Jones require a M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a client of ours, a tier 1 leading building services contractor with an international reputation delivering complex M&E schemes. We require a Quantity Surveyor with a proven history of managing NEC contracts and a building services engineering background.
Based within their London team, however initially overseeing the completion of a MoD site in RAF Lakenheath (circa 6 months, all travel and accommodation covered working on a hybrid basis with time remote and circa three days a week on site) with an onward opportunity there on within the London regional business.
Responsibilities,
- Ensure that our safety first and foremost message is visible and alive through all activities on the project
- Review and interpret contract terms and conditions, identifying and mitigating risks and enhancing opportunities
- Ensure compliance with all aspects of the contract, liaise with the project teams on project status
- Identify, qualify and management the agreement process of any changes to company contractual obligations
- Take responsibility for the cash flow forecasting, submission and receipt of payments
- Monitor and forecast costs and revenue through project lifecycle
- Assist with procurement and management of sub contractors
- Provide accurate reporting of costs, projections, contingency, liabilities, sales and margins
- Develop and maintain positive long term relationships with all stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Working alongside the project team and Commercial manager, negotiate the settlement of the final account and facilitate sign off
- Ensure all necessary records and reports are generated and maintained
- Assist in any dispute resolution process.
What you’ll need to succeed,
- Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally on medium to large Mechanical Electrical / MEP / Building Services
- Relevant degree or equivalent in commercial management / quantity surveying
- RICS accreditation or willingness to work towards – by no means essential and a nice to have!
- Proven working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Due to the nature of the initial project, ability to obtain security clearance
