The candidate for the position of Senior Engineering Geologist/Geotechnical Engineer is expected to possess a minimum of 7 years of post-graduate experience within the ground engineering sector. They should have the ability to manage and review the work done by less experienced staff, as well as a proficiency in the preparation of Preliminary Sources Studies (desk studies). Additionally, they should have a thorough understanding of geological, geomorphological, and geo-environmental processes, and the ability to plan well-considered intrusive investigations.

The candidate should possess well-developed ground modelling skills and the ability to present their work in a pictorial format, both in plan and section, using GIS and CAD. They should be able to liaise effectively with specialist contractors, clients, regulators, and other stakeholders, and possess good knowledge of soil and rock mechanics, as well as groundwater control and earthworks and ground improvement techniques.

Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must-have, as well as a minimum of four years of experience in the preparation of interpretive ground engineering reports. The candidate should also have experience in the design of foundations (ULS and SLS) and in the use of specialist analytical geotechnical software, such as slope stability, settlement, soil strengthening, and anchoring.
