Job Specification: Senior or Principal Infrastructure Civil Engineer – Highways & Drainage Infrastructure Engineer
Salary: In the range of £38,000 to £45,500 per annum, dependent upon candidate and experience. Plus non-contributory Employer’s pension scheme 10% salary. Over time is not paid (see bonus note below).

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time 37.5 hrs a week, flexible office / remote working Qualifications: BEng, MEng, or MSc Degree in Civil Engineering or similar level 6 (or equivalent experience below). IEng or CEng through professional bodies, such as ICE, IHE or CIHT. Alternatively, demonstrable progression towards relevant professional qualifications.
Experience: 3 Plus 6years Post graduation (or relevant experience 10+ years)
Annual Leave: 25 days; plus discretionary Director’s day at Christmas
Bonus: Paid in December dependent upon company performance and at Director’s discretion.
Duties: Working in a small and friendly office of transport planners and civil /
infrastructure engineers, flexibility to carry out a range of tasks will be
required. Tasks are varied to also include public realm and flood risk
assessments / drainage statements. You will also have an eye for detail with
good presentation and communication skills and the ability to work in a
close-knit team, including mentoring junior team members.

The role will involve the leadership, management, to include client liaison,
and overseeing of the design and technical delivery of highway and drainage
schemes for wide range of clients and schemes. Project engagement varies
from concept stage through to completion of construction, including
preparation of detailed engineering design submissions for Section 38/278
and Section 104/106/185 Agreement schemes, using AutoCAD, PDS /
Site3D and MicroDrainage / Flow design software, on a range of major and
minor highways projects.

Knowledge and experience of procurement stage contract documentation,
including conditions of contract, specifications, bills of quantities and contract
/ project administration, preparation and review of construction ready
documentation would also be beneficial.

Candidates will need to demonstrate a working knowledge and experience of
design standards including, TSRGD, Manual for Streets 2, DMRB and
associated documents including the Specification for Highway Works;
Design & Construction Guidance for New Sewers.

Also preferable would be experience of preparing flood risk assessments in
support of planning applications and knowledge of NPPF Flood Risk &
Costal Change guidance (although training for this can be given dependant
on applicants previous related experience of above).

Report writing and good written communication skills will be essential, in
providing input toward planning applications, particularly towards Flood Risk
Assessments and Drainage Strategy.

The role will suit someone with an inquiring mind and a desire to learn new
skills. We operate an informal structure (can consider 2 days working from
home to be discussed), and successful employees are promoted on merit
rather than when positions become available.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK holding relevant passports or
work permits. References may be asked for from previous employers,
universities or collages.

A full driving licence would also be favourable but not essential.
Training – Further training for post qualifications can be considered to be
discussed as and if necessary
