I am thrilled to be working alongside this company to help them secure a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a multi-million pound scheme, right here in the South West region!

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for all commercial and contractual matters on about £50M worth of infrastructure packages across this particular project 
Key Accountabilities   

  • Ensuring there is effective cost management of the project through regular and accurate forecasting and cost/value reporting.
  • Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with Company policy.
  • Provide commercial contact with supply chain partners through pre-contract meetings, contract vetting and input to subcontract documents.
  • Commercial management of subcontractors including payments preparation, final account work
  • Monitor cost of site resources
  • Input to monthly cost and value reports including risk management, quarterly reports and present to senior management.
  • Input in discussions concerning project performance and provide commercial input to project strategy.
  • Understand and promote usage of Company Procedures 
  • Assisting in change management 
  • Ensure timely production of appropriate levels of applications for payments. 
  • Attend and provide input to all site required meetings.
  • Manage time and workloads for yourself and the commercial team in a structured manner.

What do we need

Minimum of 5 – 6 years experience in a similar role ideally, although could also suit an established QS, ready for that next level up

  • Industry related degree (or HND) – civil engineering or construction
  • Competent in delivering sites under JCT and NEC Forms of Contract
  • Understanding of basic contract law and contractual obligations
  • Highways Experience preferably
