Building Maintenance Supervisor required to take up permanent role working on prestigious MoD site in Innsworth, Gloucestershire. The role will see you supervise maintenance operatives and specialist sub-contractors in the performance of their duties, providing a customer focused and cost effective service to the MoD.
Employees in this role will provide key operational support to the business, delivering a great service to customers, whilst ensuring works are completed on time and within service requirements.
Oversee the compliant, effective and timely delivery of Statutory, Mandatory and Reactive Maintenance and Additional Services (Projects)
Monitor Supply Chain performance, service delivery, quality and safe working on site
Ensure suitably qualified and experienced operatives are directed to relevant tasks
Monitor Supply chain work teams to ensure that Operatives have appropriate vehicles, equipment stores and skills to perform allocated jobs
Support Area Delivery Managers to deliver tasks on maintenance and Additional Works activities
Provide Professional and Technical support and advice where required to maintenance teams, the Employer and End Users
Support the Help Desk, respond to request for professional and technical advice
Ensure safety equipment and PPE is stored and maintained correctly
Periodically examine maintenance records to ensure that necessary work has been undertaken as required by the HFM task sheet and accompanying documentation
Report all dangerous occurrences and near misses
Ensure compliance and adherence of with Health, Safety, Sustainability and Fire procedures
Issue and cancel CA permits and related documents, to ensure a safe working environment
To keep and maintain records and update WorkManager as required
If a Skilled Person, accept sole responsibility for the practical implementation and operation of JSP 375 within your area of appointment
Ensure as far as reasonably practical that all persons within the site observe the requirements of JSP 375
Assess the competence of skilled persons for continuing appointment and review experience and performance before re-appointment by AP, and at other times as necessary. Ensure skilled persons are aware of any restrictions related to their work
Produce risk assessments and method statements, and where necessary safety programmes and permits to work
Inspect safety equipment before and after use, and maintain registers and inspection and calibration
Review risk registers and follow maintenance and management processes
Ensure compliance with health, safety, sustainability, quality and other statutory requirements
HNC level qualification in a Building/Civil Engineering or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering related discipline, or trade qualification and suitable experience in a similar role.
Emergency first aid
Familiarity with and experienced in working to SRP safe system of work
Good standards of numeracy and literacy
Basic IT skills, including using a PDA, and MS Office
Able to obtain and maintain basic and SC security clearance
Full UK driving licence
