Mechanical Fitter

Mechanical Fitter – Girling Jones are currently looking for a Mechanical Fitter in Plymouth, you will be carrying out high quality mechanical services installations to commercial and industrial clients.

You will be working a 40-hour working week – 8.00am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Day to day “Mechanical Fitter” duties,

• Mechanical services installations in commercial and industrial environments.
• Installation of Mapress copper, Mapress steel, Mapress stainless steel, screwed steel, PVC,
• ABS, Victaulic, MDPE and PVDF pipework systems.
• Installation of compressed air plant and systems.
• Installation of chilled water plant and systems.
• Installation of LTHW plant and systems.
• Installation of MTHW plant and systems.
• Installation of HVAC plant and systems.
• Installation of steam plant and systems.
• Installation of MCW and Tank fed systems.
• Commissioning of services and associated plant as above.
• Troubleshoot equipment on site
• Provide technical support during installation, testing and commissioning on site
• Ability to read schematics and other drawings.

What you’ll need to succeed,

• NVQ Level 3 qualified or equivalent or time served
• JIB gold card preferred.
• UK Driving licence.
• To be an experienced time served Mechanical Fitter with a background and experience within the Industrial and Commercial sectors is essential.
• Ability to adhere to stringent Health and Safety rules and promote a safe working
• Familiarity with completing permits to work and will be able to complete accurate and concise
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiar with client protocols and requirement of a professional team.
• To receive and fully understand client briefs and any project constraints.
• Experience in a customer facing role.
