M&E Quantity Surveyor sought, Bristol. Girling Jones are delighted to be supporting a large development in North Bristol, seeking a MEP Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity  Surveyor to support on commercial activities on this prestigious development in North Bristol.
  
Located in North Bristol, this new urban community has outline planning for 2,675 new homes, 62 acres of employment space, acres of parkland, new schools and education district and a thriving town-centre. At the heart of the development will be a supersonic new arena complex and train station making it one of the most well-connected entertainment districts in the South West.
  
We require a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team initially overseeing two schemes, a 1,500 bed student accomodation scheme (circa £30 – £35m M&E) and the Arena (circa £45 – £60M), from pre construction through to delivery.
  
This is an outstanding opportunity for an MEP Quantity Surveyor to work alongside the development team overseeing MEP delivery as opposed to working for an MEP Sub Contractor.
  
Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical and electrical elements of projects.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and manage project budgets, providing regular financial updates to project stakeholders.
  • Procurement: Oversee the procurement process, ensuring competitive pricing and adherence to project timelines.
  • Contract Administration: Administer contracts (bespoke) and subcontracts, including preparing variations and claims.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks related to costs and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • Value Engineering: Collaborate with the project team to identify value engineering opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Client Relations: Maintain positive relationships with clients, providing timely and accurate financial information.

  
What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Degree or equivalent in commercial management or quantity surveying
  • Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor, with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Relevant site access cards
