Mobile Electrician
Based out of Tiverton Office but Covering South West & Little South East

Main Purpose
  
Girling Jones are looking for a Mobile Electrician, to lead transformative projects across MoD estates and diverse commercial properties in the South West and South East of the UK. Whether you are installing brand new projects, modernising outdated systems, or collaborating with our multidisciplined team, you will always deliver systems which are safe, compliant, and fully operational, committing to a safety-first mindset.
  

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment including lighting, power distribution, electrical panels, switches, outlets, and wiring.
  • Evaluate the complexities of new and existing projects, delivering accurate quotations and timelines.
  • Conduct meticulous electrical inspections and generate detailed reports that serve as the gold standard for British compliance.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Provide insightful technical guidance and supervision to junior staff, apprentices, and other trades.
  • Be the vigilant eye, ensuring that every project you touch meets the highest safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues, making effective repairs and replacements.
  • Champion compliance with all relevant electrical codes and regulations.
  • Maintain an impeccable record of all your work. From routine maintenance to complex repairs, your documentation is as spotless as your work.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to always ensure safe working practices.
  • Perform emergency repairs to make sure systems are always safe and secure.
  • Conduct comprehensive electrical tests and inspections that assure quality and reliability, and electrical safety.
  • Conduct general electrical repairs and servicing tasks with a level of skill and attention that turns routine into remarkable.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.

  
Required Qualifications
  

  • A recognised apprenticeship with relevant experience as a fully qualified electrician and/or an appropriate City and Guilds/NVQ in an Electrical discipline
  • Holds City and Guilds IEE 18th Edition Regulations
  • Holds City and Guilds 2391, 2394 or 2395 Testing and Inspection Hum-F-007 Version 1.0 2
  • Up to date knowledge of latest legislation
  • Experience of electrical testing
  • Installation experience
