I’m looking for top talent to join a well-established multi-disciplinary design consultancy based in Plymouth. They have a diverse portfolio of projects, working with a broad range of clients including retail giants and high-profile local developers. The team specialise in Civil and Structural Engineering, with experience in the industrial, commercial, and retail sectors as well as exciting new projects within the Ports and Harbours sector. As a privately owned partnership, staff also enjoy an increased sense of stability and that ‘family feel’.

The Role

Thanks to a healthy future workload, an opportunity has arisen for a talented Senior Civil Engineer to join their expanding team in Plymouth. This is a great opportunity to join the business during an exciting period of growth and help shape the Civil Engineering department.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Technical Director, your responsibilities as a Senior Civil Engineer will include:

  • Liaising concisely with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders
  • Preparing and issuing technical project details and reports in line with standard requirements, including drawings and calculations as applicable
  • Some responsibility for technical, financial, and managerial project aspects, only as required
  • Maintain exacting standards across all outputs ensuring their accuracy and appropriate presentation
  • Nurturing and mentoring junior team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Masters in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • 3+ years post-grad of industry/sector experience
  • Chartered or looking to Charter (ICE / IHE or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering and development infrastructure
  • Be sectional agreement conversant (S38 S278 etc.)
  • Experience in Civils3D, AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, Autotrack, and/or Causeway
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Competency in Excel, Word, and Publisher
  • Be based in Plymouth or willing to commute
  • Full clean driver’s license
