Here at Girling Jones, as part of our company SuperGreen policy we’ve committed to offsetting double our Carbon emissions each year in an attempt to become “Climate Positive”.

Unable to find local schemes to offset our “62 tCO2e” we’ve partnered with climate hero “Matt Pulfer” who is setting up “Oak Offset”, a ‘non for profit’ organisation which works with Devon landowners to allow Devon businesses to offset their Carbon by planting Oak trees along hedgerows, fields, streams and other “Non-arable” areas.

Currently Matt has 4 sites within the Crediton area and Girling Jones now have 76 newly planted oak trees to offset 124 tCO2e. We will be planting another 40 Oaks and Cherrys before the end of the planting season to get a head start on our 2020 pledge!.

Matt is looking to spread the initiative across Devon and “Oak Offset” will soon be up and running formally with a website charting all the trees planted with detail of how to apply.
